About 529 State Tax
Radif Partners reads each state's 529 rule where it is written, on the revenue department's forms and instructions or the state plan's own disclosure, and turns it into one dated row: deduction or credit, cap, whether another state's plan counts, and what is added back when money leaves. Federal rules come from section 529 as amended by Public Law 119-21 and from IRS Publication 970. The site sells no plan, takes no commission and asks for no e-mail.
The gap this site fills
Search for a 529 calculator and the first pages give you one of three things: a K-12 limit of $10,000 that stopped being true on January 1, 2026, a table of state benefits worked out for a single household that is probably not yours, or a page titled "calculator" that ends with an invitation to talk to an adviser. The state tax break is the one part of a 529 that changes from one family to the next, and it depends on three things those pages leave out: your state's own rule, your income and your filing status.
This site does better than the first Google result because it calculates, for your state, your income and your filing status, what your 529 contribution really saves you in 2026 (deduction or credit, caps and parity read on the state's own site and dated), with the $20,000 K-12 limit from the 2025 law, while the top pages still say $10,000, show a table for one profile, or book a call with an adviser.
Who publishes it
The site is published by Radif Partners, a company that builds calculators on public rules. It is not a state agency, a plan manager, a broker or an investment adviser. It is not affiliated with any state 529 program or with the IRS, receives no commission and has no partner to send you to. Pages carry no affiliate link.

What we rely on
Section 529 of the Internal Revenue Code (govinfo.gov), Public Law 119-21 (congress.gov), IRS Publication 970, the IRS questions and answers on 529 plans, Rev. Proc. 2025-32 for the 2026 thresholds, and for each state its revenue department and the disclosure of the plan it sponsors, listed with dates on each state page.
What the site leaves out
Plan fees, investment options and performance: they are in each plan's disclosure and change often. Financial aid formulas. Advice on which plan to choose. The method page lists every formula and its limits; the editorial policy explains how errors are corrected.
